Baldur’s Gate 3 is approaching its full version release and will be available on PC in just a few weeks, on August 3rd, and Larian advises against playing in early access.
The reason is that, as previously reported, saves and progress made in early access will not be transferred to the full version of Baldur’s Gate 3, so the developers do not recommend starting the game in this version, as it would essentially be a waste of time.
We do not recommend players purchasing Baldur’s Gate 3 in early access to start playing earlier, partly because it is an outdated version, but also because we are already close to launch. In essence, the game is so different from the final version that it makes save compatibility between versions impossible.
In any case, the early access version is still available, it’s just that it may not be worth embarking on an adventure with the thought that the final version will be released in a couple of weeks and you will continue playing with the same character.
In any case, those who purchase the early access version before the launch will receive a number of digital bonuses, such as the Digital Deluxe version and other rewards, but will not have the 72-hour early access to the launch date that was initially announced.
The latter option has also been excluded due to the postponement of the release date for Baldur’s Gate 3, which effectively brought the game forward for everyone.
