Sony Studios have captivated fans with a diverse range of games, primarily catering to adult audiences. However, with the introduction of Astro Bot and the upcoming LEGO Horizon Adventures, they are now targeting a broader family demographic. Surprisingly, the concept of a “cubic” Horizon game originated not from Guerrilla Games but from LEGO.
This isn’t the first time LEGO has collaborated with PlayStation. In 2022, they released a set featuring a longneck as part of a promotional tie-in for Horizon Forbidden West. Kate Bryant, head of branded games at LEGO, expressed excitement about this partnership in the realm of gaming and construction.
Within our company, there was immense enthusiasm for this collaboration, especially within our gaming division. As avid fans of Horizon ourselves, we proposed ideas directly to Guerrilla Games that were well-received and eventually led to this project coming to life.
Thus emerged LEGO Horizon Adventures – jointly developed by Guerrilla Games and Studio Gobo. The developers aimed to infuse the vibrant world of Horizon with engaging characters that resonate across all age groups. By adapting Zero Dawn through the playful lens of LEGO, they maintained its essence while making it more accessible even to younger players,” Bryant explained.
