Starfield players who were left wanting more from the game’s outer space sections now have a reason to rejoice. A new mod has been created to offer the community a plethora of additional activities to enjoy while navigating the vast cosmos in their spaceship. Despite Starfield’s impressive array of over 1000 planets to discover, some have criticized the game for feeling somewhat barren, both on planetary surfaces and in the depths of space.
Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG does feature a few combat scenarios that require players to engage in zero-gravity battles, but these encounters are often deemed simplistic and repetitive, lacking in variety and complexity. Fans have been vocal about their desire for more diverse options in these encounters, and a talented modder has stepped up to the challenge.
Enter user kaosnyrb on Nexus Mods, who has introduced the “Dark Universe – Crossfire” mod. This mod introduces 75 new space encounters to Starfield, primarily focused on expanding faction warfare. Players can now engage in defending new stronghold space stations against hostile forces, participate in conflicts across the Settled Systems, and intervene in battles between multiple groups to sway the outcome in their favor. Additionally, players can face off against a special boss ship that emits a unique signal to attract challengers.
The mod also introduces more opportunities for looting, including abandoned shipments containing valuable items like weapons, armor, and drugs. Players can even board enemy ships during conflicts to plunder their goods while the crew is preoccupied. To facilitate trading these newfound treasures, new trading posts have been added for players to quickly exchange items with various factions.
With 15 different encounter types available, players can look forward to a more dynamic and engaging experience in Starfield’s outer space regions.
