Spotify is introducing a new feature called “Jam” that allows friends to create and listen to a shared playlist in real time. Users can contribute songs to a shared queue, regardless of their location. This feature is available to both free and Premium subscribers, although only Premium users can initiate a session and invite others to join as hosts.
Premium users can start a joint listening experience by selecting a song or playlist and tapping the speaker icon or three-dot menu. Housemates on the same Wi-Fi network will be prompted to join and contribute to the session. Hosts can also invite people from anywhere in the world by scanning a QR code or using other methods.
