Creators of the ambitious open-world action game Far Cry decided to showcase the beauty of the southern islands. The game, released in 2004, was developed on the CryEngine 1 engine, and at the time had impressive graphics. Far Cry: Rework is a global mod that can transform not only the graphics of the beloved action game, but also the sound design, as well as diversify the gameplay.
Today we will talk about vegetation improvements. The project will show you how old levels could look in an updated version with new assets on the CryEngine 1 engine!
All vegetation is divided into categories:
Spoiler
Grass;
Plants;
Ferns;
Bushes;
Jungle set;
Bamboo;
Palms;
Trees;
Swamp/River set;
Underwater world;
Branches, Roots, Stumps
Features:
New vegetation shader;
Shared material library for each vegetation category;
Wind simulation on almost every type of vegetation;
Flicker protection for visual effects such as heat haze, underwater fog, and volumetric fog, etc.;
Blended scattered textures on leaves to avoid monotony in vegetation;
More detailed underwater world;
Appropriate color palette for all vegetation to match the new lighting;
All vegetation has been replaced. There is no original vegetation or vegetation from other mods in the project, unlike other mods where everything is taken from FC Classic, FC2010, and TDS.
