Blizzard recently sent out a survey asking players about Warcraft 3: Reforged, indicating it may have more significant plans for the faulty remaster. The questions seem to suggest Blizzard could even be planning a soft relaunch of Warcraft 3: Reforged.
A select group of fans on the Blizzard survey email list recently received a survey pertaining to Warcraft 3: Reforged. The survey’s questions were geared towards identifying what players like or dislike about Warcraft 3: Reforged, and what they would like to see change in the future.
The survey also gauges player interest in a number of new features in Warcraft 3: Reforged. Some of these were direct from Legacy Warcraft 3, like Ranked Play, Clans, and Leaderboards, but others, like an in-game art update, storage size reduction, and improvements to the campaign, are new. One of the final questions even asks how appealing a “soft relaunch” of Warcraft 3: Reforged would be.
This new survey from Blizzard is promising. After Warcraft 3: Reforged’s lukewarm reception, players demanded refunds and considered the game a flop. However, after over a year of silence, Blizzard suddenly began giving Warcraft 3: Reforged attention, with multiple new balance patches and updates since then.
That said, players should temper their expectations about Warcraft 3: Reforged for the time being. These surveys only show Blizzard is collecting feedback–until a formal announcement is made, there is no proof it is actually planning a soft relaunch of Warcraft 3: Reforged. Even so, it is promising to see Blizzard has not forgotten about its attempted remake yet.

Blizzard Entertainment has recently launched an online survey focused on its classic strategy game, Warcraft 3. The survey hints at a potential soft launch of Warcraft 3: Reforged, an updated version of the game.
Warcraft III is one of Blizzard’s most famous games. The beloved game was released in 2002, and remains popular despite over 18 years of age. Blizzard recently revealed a free Reforged version of the game which allows players to control both the original game and a new updated version which includes four remastered campaigns, new visuals, and other improvements.
The survey, which was made available on Battle.net, begins by asking players whether or not they are familiar with the original Warcraft 3 game. It then asks questions about multiplayer and campaign experiences, as well as whether players are interested in purchasing the Reforged version of the game.
At the end of the survey, players are asked about the type of soft launch they think would be best for the Reforged version. This includes preferences for different types of launch windows and access to the title. The survey appears to be prepared for Blizzard’s marketing team, with the goal of gathering information to help shape the launch strategy for Warcraft 3: Reforged.
It’s worth noting that Blizzard has not officially confirmed any dates or details regarding the Reforged version, and the survey could be just another move meant to gauge interest in the game. Nevertheless, the survey is a great indication that Warcraft 3: Reforged may be closer to a launch than many believe.
For fans of the classic strategy game, the survey is great news. After nearly two decades, Warcraft 3 is still being supported by Blizzard, and a Reforged version could bring the series to a whole new generation of players.
