The Pokémon Company has launched official forums on its website. Despite the natural need for an official community gathering place, the moderation team is facing a challenging task.
The forums were launched on Monday, July 3. While many of us were preparing for a day off the next day, the Pokémon community was busy posting some of the most controversial discussion topics in the series’ 27-year history. Although the moderators have deleted many of these posts, the internet managed to capture some of them. This particular screenshot by @UltimaShadowX on Twitter perfectly illustrates the problem.
In addition to the controversial posts, there were also discussions about queer character headcanons, such as Penny from Scarlet and Violet being transgender. However, these posts have also been removed from the forums.
