Three companies have been selected by NASA to develop lunar terrain vehicles (LTV) for the upcoming Artemis missions. Intuitive Machines, Lunar Outpost, and Venturi Astrolab will each work on their own vehicle in a feasibility study. Following this, one vehicle will be chosen for a demonstration mission to the moon for testing. The LTV will be utilized by the Artemis V crew set to launch in 2030.
The LTV must be versatile, serving as both a crewed and uncrewed vehicle for astronauts and exploration purposes. NASA plans to contract the selected vehicle for lunar services until 2039, with potential task orders…
