Old Voices to be Reused in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Remake

Konami has revealed more information about Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and it seems that some fans may be disappointed. While the game will feature the original voice cast, there will be no new recordings of their performances. Instead, the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC game will use the old voice work.

The game’s initial press release stated that “the remake will star the original voice characters,” leading some players to believe that the cast would return to provide fresh performances. However, a tweet from the official Metal Gear Twitter account clarified that “the story and character voices in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remain the same from the original game,” suggesting that the new version would simply reuse the material from the original PlayStation 2 game.

Konami has now confirmed that this is indeed the case. “Essentially it’s saying the story and character voices in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will remain as they were in the original game,” a spokesperson for the publisher told Kotaku. The Verge received an even more direct statement from Konami, confirming that there would be no changes from the original voice work.
