Improved HDR Support, Frame Rate, and Image Quality with AMD’s New Fluid Motion Frames Driver

AMD has recently launched a new driver called AFMF (AMD ‍Fluid Motion Frames) for its RDNA 2 and RDNA ⁣3 graphics processors. The latest version, 23.30.01.02, includes HDR support and enhances frame rate. It also provides⁤ additional support ⁤for games featuring AMD Radeon Anti-Lag+.

For ⁤those unfamiliar, AMD Fluid Motion Frames is‍ a driver-based version of AMD Frame Generation. This technology is currently compatible with all RDNA 2 and RDNA 3 graphics processors. However, AFMF is not as advanced as FSR 3.0 and has certain limitations.

With the new driver, users can now enable AFMF globally in all DirectX 11 and 12 ⁣games. ⁤Individual applications can still have AFMF disabled or enabled through their ⁢respective settings.

AMD claims that the frame rate has⁣ been ‍improved, resulting in smoother gameplay and enhanced image quality. However, AFMF remains disabled during medium or fast mouse movements.

Here is a list of new games that now support AMD Radeon Anti-Lag+ with AFMF:

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries
Deep Rock Galactic
Warhammer 40,000: ⁤Darktide
Sniper Elite 5
Returnal
Remnant II
Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Spider-Man Remastered
PUBG: ‍BATTLEGROUNDS
Call of⁢ Duty: Modern Warfare II
Tiny‍ Tina’s Wonderland
Hogwarts Legacy
Resident Evil 3
