Farming the necessary character Ascension materials for Imbibitor Lunae in Honkai: Star Rail can be a time-consuming endeavor, but a worthwhile one, as this can potentially spike the DPS character’s presence on the field. Imbibitor Lunae is a new character that is, in essence, the 5-star version of Dan Heng, one of the Trailblazer’s companions from the Astral Express. Contrary to his 4-star version, however, Imbibitor Lunae shows the character’s full power. This secret strength is represented by a change to element and chosen Path. Imbibitor Lunae uses Imaginary DMG and follows the Path of the Destruction.
As such, Dan Heng’s 5-star version continues to be a DPS. Nevertheless, his new Path makes him a more resilient character who can withstand damage and has a more elaborate skill set. To optimize the character, it is not only recommended to use Imbibitor Lunae’s best builds in Honkai: Star Rail, but also to max out his level and Trace levels, though this is a much longer process that will require a lot of farming and dedication. With both of these processes completed, Imbibitor Lunae can be used as one of the strongest DPS characters in the game, both for single-target damage and AoE attacks.
The first items that you will need to farm for Imbibitor Lunae’s Ascension are Immortal Scionette and its evolved forms, Immortal Aeroblossom and Immortal Lumintwig, respectively. These items have been present since the game’s launch, so veteran players may have a leftover stock. These items drop from several Mara-struck opponents on the Xianzhou Luofu, including various Abundance Sprites, Disciples of Sanctus Medicus, Aurumaton Gatekeepers, and even The Ascended in Honkai: Star Rail. These items can also be gathered as Assignment rewards, in the Embers Exchange, and the Luofu’s world shop.
The other item to farm for Imbibitor Lunae is a new Ascension material called Suppressing Edict. These items drop exclusively from the Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Puppetry challenge, added with Version 1.3. A total of 66 copies of this item are required, so it will be necessary to repeat the Stagnant Shadow a few times until all necessary Suppressing Edicts are gathered. Alternatively, you can also use the Synthesizer in Honkai: Star Rail to transform 2x copies of other Ascension Materials dropped from Stagnant Shadows into 1x copy of Suppressing Edict. This is best done when only one or two are remaining for Imbibitor Lunae’s last Ascension.
The table below lists all the necessary materials needed to take Imbibitor Lunae to level 80, per Ascension threshold, as listed by Genshin Lab:
