After the SV Update, Which Pokémon Are Unable to be Transferred from Pokémon HOME?

As they were not compatible from launch, fans of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have eagerly awaited access to Pokémon HOME and the ability to transport their favorite Pokémon to and from the Paldea region. The latest update of HOME allowed users to do just that, adding support to Scarlet and Violet and resulting in the region’s roster by over 100 Pokémon, previously unobtainable in the wilds of the Paldea region. There are, however, certain notable and potentially disappointing exceptions: many fan-favorite starters, Legendary, Mythical, and regional-form Pokémon cannot yet be transferred from HOME to Scarlet and Violet.

Following their release in November 2022, the latest console offering from Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, and Game Freak, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has been incompatible with the Pokémon virtual storage system, Pokémon HOME. Following the Pokémon HOME 3.0.0 update on May 30, however, over 100 new Pokémon not previously catchable in the Paldea region have been made accessible in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

While fans of previous games from the series may be disappointed by the diminutive list of Pokémon added to Scarlet and Violet from their favorite regions, it is undoubtedly impressive that Scarlet and Violet can now be experienced with almost half of the National Pokédex.

Furthermore, in spite of the huge list of unavailable Pokémon, Scarlet and Violet’s upcoming DLC will be arriving soon in the form of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero (Fall 2023) and The Indigo Disk (Winter 2023). Although details have yet to be officially released, a series of leaks indicate an exciting addition to the roster of the Paldea region and the potential return of all starter Pokémon – many of which remain absent, even following the latest update of Pokémon HOME.
