Reactor unit No. 4 of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, situated in the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region under Russian control, was successfully brought to a “cold shutdown” state on the morning of April 13, as reported by “Rosatom.”
The state corporation emphasized that the radiation levels at the plant, in the sanitary protection zone, and in the observation zone remain stable and within normal ranges, indicating the absence of any abnormalities or emergencies.
Currently, all six units of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant are in a state of cold shutdown, ensuring the safe operation of the reactor at low pressure and temperature of the cooling water.
Previously, Russia accused Ukraine of launching a drone attack on the Zaporizhzhia NPP. Mariano Grossi, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), expressed concern that the nuclear power plant had become a “direct target of military action.”
