Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant Successfully Achieves Cold Shutdown for All Power Units

Reactor unit⁣ No. 4 of the‍ Zaporizhzhia⁢ Nuclear ‍Power Plant, ⁢situated in the occupied part of‍ Zaporizhzhia region‍ under Russian control,‌ was ​successfully brought to a “cold⁢ shutdown” ⁤state on the morning of ​April 13,‌ as ⁤reported by “Rosatom.”

The state corporation emphasized that the⁤ radiation ‍levels at the plant, in the sanitary protection‍ zone,‍ and ‌in the ‍observation zone ⁢remain ⁣stable and within normal ranges, indicating the absence of any abnormalities ‌or emergencies.

Currently, all six units of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant⁢ are in ⁣a⁣ state of cold shutdown, ensuring the ‌safe ⁤operation of the reactor at low​ pressure and temperature ⁢of the⁤ cooling water.

Previously, Russia accused​ Ukraine‌ of launching⁣ a drone attack on the⁢ Zaporizhzhia NPP. Mariano Grossi, ‍the director general⁣ of the International ⁤Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), expressed concern⁣ that the nuclear‌ power⁢ plant had become​ a “direct target of ‍military action.”
