Said to be inspired by classic ’90s RPGs such as Chrono Trigger, the 16-bit game will have six unique characters with their own backstories and skills, including the two main protagonists, Valere and Zale. Harnessing their powers as Solstice Warriors, along with other party members’ abilities, the group will be faced with putting an end to an evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer.
Indie developer Sabotage Studios is scheduled to release the turn-based RPG Sea of Stars for the Nintendo Switch, Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5 on August 29, 2023. Demo versions of the game are currently available on all of these platforms, which will offer people a glimpse into what they can expect from the gameplay mechanics and style of Sea of Stars. While, unfortunately, Sea of Stars is only available as a digital release at this time, many people may be wondering if it be available on services like Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus.
Sea of Stars will be a launch-day title for both the Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus services on August 29. These monthly subscription services are designed to allow users to pay a monthly or yearly fee in exchange for access to hundreds of games available in their catalogs. People who are subscribed can simply download Sea of Stars to their game platform on day one, and they will be able to play immediately at no additional fee.

Although Xbox Game Pass has had a fairly well-known history of featuring many highly anticipated games on their release dates, Sony’s subscription service, PS Plus, often does not follow this trend. Sea of Stars is one of the rare exceptions, coming to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for members of the Extra and Premium level subscriptions on launch day. Even more notable, however, is that this will be the first game to be added to both of these services simultaneously on its launch day, hopefully opening the door for more games to follow this pattern in the future.
