The world of Sanctuary in Diablo 4 is vast, offering players an abundance of quests, exploration, events, and dungeons to keep them occupied in this dark and gritty ARPG dungeon-crawler. As the Wanderer, players will spend hours following Lilith throughout the world, trying to thwart her plans while also encountering opportunities to bring light and hope to this world of loss and terror. Side quests, dungeons, exploration, and World Events all entice players to deviate from the main campaign, but Lilith will still be waiting when they’re ready to continue.
It’s worth noting that this article contains minor spoilers for Diablo 4. For players focused on completing the main story and a few extras, it takes about 35 hours to beat Diablo 4, including all six Acts, the prologue, and epilogue, with some extra exploration and crafting time. This doesn’t include any dungeons outside of the main objectives or endgame content. For the average player who completes some side quests and the main campaign, it can take about 60+ hours to reach the end of the game with one character.
According to Diablo 4’s Associate Game Director, Joseph Piepiora, it will take over 150 hours for the average gamer to reach the max level cap of 100 and experience everything the game has to offer. However, this may only refer to reaching level 100 on one character, so it could take longer for completionists looking to max out a character of each class. These numbers may also increase with Season content and potential future expansion/DLC.
