Update 4.04 Released for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt


Polish studio⁤ CD⁤ Projekt RED, as promised by Global⁢ Community Director ‌Marcin Momot, ⁤has‌ released an update for The Witcher 3: Wild ‌Hunt ​on ​all platforms, including Xbox, ⁤PlayStation,‍ PC, and Nintendo Switch, which includes various game ‌fixes. The ​update ‌adds HDR calibration,‍ the ‍ability⁣ to switch potions ⁤and apply oils ⁣from the⁢ radial menu, as well⁢ as various⁢ improvements and corrections. The ‍downloaded file size on Steam⁣ for ⁢PC ⁤is 3.2‌ GB. The update⁤ also brings some content updates from patch 4.0 and fixes from subsequent patches to‍ the game version ⁣for Nintendo ⁤Switch, which were ⁢available on other platforms.⁢ These include ⁤bug fixes, gameplay adjustments, quality of life changes, ⁢as ⁢well as additional content ‍inspired by Netflix’s Witcher ⁤series.

FOR PC

Frames allowed⁢ by ‌the ⁣”Maximum ‌Frames ‍Per Second” setting ⁢will now be properly calculated‌ if DLSS frame ‍generation is enabled.

Fixed some ‍cases where‌ character ​hair could ⁣look too bright ⁢with ray ​tracing enabled.

Bald Mountain⁤ – ​Fixed a ​crash that⁤ occurred when ray ⁤tracing was ​enabled ⁣and⁤ all⁢ other ray‍ tracing⁣ settings were ​disabled.

Beast of⁢ Beauclair – ‍Fixed⁢ an error‍ that could⁣ cause the game ‍to⁤ hang when loading‌ a certain ​checkpoint ‍save if ray tracing was ⁢enabled.

Fixed‌ an​ error that caused the game ‍to launch without REDlauncher ​and opened ⁢a browser tab with a request to “Use Cyberpunk 2077 ‍with your⁢ Epic ‌Games account.”

Fixed an error ⁤where⁢ gamepad input could still work when ⁢the game was suspended.

Fixed ‍an error‍ that caused a second cursor ⁢with high sensitivity to appear in ⁣the main menu when the “Hardware Cursor” ⁢parameter was set to⁤ “Off.”

FOR CONSOLES

Fixed ‍an error where some hairstyles from the “Beard⁣ and Hairstyle⁤ Set”⁣ DLC would ‌clip ⁢through the Nilfgaardian‌ helmet ‍on previous ‌generation consoles.

Fixed an issue ‍with ⁤texture⁤ flickering during‌ Gwent matches on next-generation consoles.

Mousetower -⁢ Fixed an issue on previous generation⁢ consoles ⁢where‍ conversation with‌ Keira would sometimes not⁤ start after the Pesta fight.

Cabaret – Fixed ⁤some visual issues⁤ with ‍Lute’s ⁤model before‍ and during the staged‍ fight on previous generation consoles.

“The Last Wish” and “Wandering in the Dark” – Fixed an error ⁢that could cause the game to crash ‍on PlayStation 5 during these quests.

Improved ⁤stability‌ during​ or after saving file loading after extended play in⁢ ray ⁢tracing mode.

Fixed an issue where the⁣ cross-progress parameter⁤ incorrectly updated the cloud save status⁤ interface⁤ on Xbox Series X.

VISUAL

Fixed an ⁣error where fog could appear ⁤as ‌2D in some locations.

Fixed an error where sky ‌reflection on ‍water with ray⁤ tracing enabled was ‍partially ​missing in certain areas in White ​Orchard, Velen, and Toussaint.

Grass collision now works⁤ correctly.

Added ⁣HDR ⁢calibration ⁤option.

Fixed ​an error where​ mountains ​in Kaer Morhen could disappear when changing the⁤ camera angle while Geralt was‍ underwater.

Hunting ​a ‍Junior – Removed an unnecessary body‍ of ​water from Oxenfurt⁣ sewers.

Fixed ⁣an ⁢error where the loading screen ⁢would ‌hang with ray tracing enabled.

QUESTS AND ⁢GAMEPLAY

Added ⁤the ability ⁢to switch potions ⁤and apply oils‍ from the radial ⁣menu.

Fixed an ‍error where Geralt’s health quickly‍ depleted when diving.

The Last Trial – Fixed an error where Lambert⁢ would sometimes ​stand in the water instead‌ of sitting in ⁢the boat, blocking⁣ progress when leaving ⁤and returning to the area.

MISCELLANEOUS

Fixed some issues with ‍loading ‍saves when using cross-progression‍ feature on multiple computers with the​ same GOG account.

ONLINE ⁤FUNCTIONS ⁣- NINTENDO‌ SWITCH

Added cross-progression feature between platforms, ​replacing⁢ the⁤ previous save‌ file integration introduced in patch 3.6 for Nintendo​ Switch. Your latest⁤ saves will ⁤be automatically uploaded to the cloud, allowing you⁣ to easily continue ⁤from where ⁣you left off on ⁢other platforms.​ Cross-progression ‍provides‌ the⁢ latest save for each save type. This feature becomes ⁤available⁤ after logging⁣ into your account. Note that a GOG account is required ‍for this, regardless of‍ your platform.

Please note: these ⁣are only the most noticeable changes and additions to the game. The patch includes ⁢other fixes⁤ not included ‌in‌ this⁢ list.
