Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia No Longer Protected by Denuvo, Sega Announces

Yesterday, Sega made a rather unusual decision by removing Denuvo protection from their game, Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia. This is the first time in several years that Sega has chosen to remove Denuvo. As a result, the size of the game’s EXE file has decreased by 159 MB.

In 2019, Sega also removed Denuvo protection from the Yakuza series games. This could indicate a change in the publisher’s approach to game protection, and we may see more removals of Denuvo, especially from older games.

Although the game had already been cracked in 2018 by Voksi, the <a href="https://news.ad-astra.icu/total-war-saga-thrones-of-britannia-no-longer-protected-by-denuvosega-announces.html” title=”Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia No Longer Protected by Denuvo, Sega Announces”>crack utilized an insecure Kernel driver. Since then, several patches have been released for the game.
