Swampert is a highly viable Pokémon with several impressive features. Its Water/Ground typing makes it weak only to Grass-type moves, although it is particularly vulnerable to them. Swampert boasts excellent HP and Attack stats, but its Special Attack stat is only decent. Additionally, all the Water moves it learns from leveling up are Special moves. Despite this, Swampert’s bulkiness allows it to handle opponents even if it takes an extra turn to knock them out with a Water move. It is widely considered one of the best dual-type Ground Pokémon in the Hoenn region.
Salamence, one of two pseudo-Legendary Pokémon from Hoenn, has an incredibly high base stat total. Its offensive stats are prioritized, making it a swift and deadly Pokémon. Although its defensive stats are lower, they are still respectable. Salamence is often capable of taking decent damage as long as it is not hit with Ice-type moves. As a Dragon-type Pokémon, it has access to some terrifying moves, and its secondary Flying-type nullifies Ground-type moves, which can be advantageous.
