Instagram now allows users to add music to their photo carousels. This new feature, launched in collaboration with pop star Olivia Rodrigo to promote her single “bad idea right?”, enables you to select licensed music to accompany your slideshows. Additionally, Instagram has introduced the ability to create Collabs with up to three co-authors and post audience-response prompts to Reels.
The carousel soundtracking feature fills a gap that was already present in TikTok’s Photo Mode, which was introduced last year. In a blog post today, Instagram stated, “Whether you’re sharing a collection of summer memories with friends or moments from your camera roll, you can now add music to your photo carousels. Building on our previous launch of music for feed photos, anyone can add a song to capture the mood and bring their carousel to life.”
