Making use of a similar system to the first game, Remnant 2 allows players to swap between multiple classes known in-game as Archetypes. However, while some Archetypes can be chosen right at the start of the game, others can only be obtained later, hidden behind some of the game’s most devious secrets. And while most of Remnant 2’s hidden Archetypes can be relatively difficult to discover on one’s own, the hidden Archon Archetype is undoubtedly the most convoluted to unlock.
Upon the game’s launch, most of Remnant 2’s secret Archetypes were already known, with players having found their unlock conditions relatively quickly. However, even sometime after the game’s full launch, one Archetype was still unaccounted for. The last of Remnant 2’s secret Archetypes, Archon, proved to be the game’s most convoluted secret, with no players managing to unlock it even as it was confirmed by dataminers to exist within the game. Requiring several of the game’s rarest items and a number of steps that weren’t meant to be organically discovered through gameplay, Remnant 2’s Archon requires a great deal of patience and grinding to unlock – even for players who know the steps.

To start, unlocking Archon requires players to have already unlocked two of Remnant 2’s other Archetypes – Invader and Explorer, both of which are secret. Then, players must have the Fortune Hunter and Worm Hole skills from each class, unlocked at levels 10 and 5 for Explorer and Invader respectively. On top of that, for the door to open, players must equip the full Explorer’s set, Ford’s Scattergun, the Cube Gun, the Labyrinth Staff, the Void Heart, Leto’s Amulet, the Amber Moonstone, the Black Cat Band, Zania’s Malice, and Anastasija’s Inspiration. In-game, these requirements are only just barely hinted at, giving practically no indication of how to unlock the Archetype.
While the inclusion of such a convoluted secret in the game makes for an interesting story, locking an entire class behind the secret means that many of the game’s players may not ever play – or even get to know about – the class. Moreover, the lack of any real hints toward the Archetype’s unlock requirements makes it even more inaccessible, with its discovery relying almost entirely on the work of dataminers. While Remnant 2 is home to many devious secrets, the Archon Archetypes unlock requirements may take things too far.
