Teenage Engineering just unveiled a toy car/doodad priced at $250. Yes, it’s a $250 piece of metal with wheels that you can roll around a desk before losing interest. The company is known for releasing two types of products: expensive and cool audio devices, and everything else. Today’s surprise release falls into the latter category.
While not as outrageous as the company’s $1,600 self-assemble desk or $2,000 wooden dolls, this doodad should realistically cost around $2.50, not $250. The Grip Car, made from aluminum and featuring smooth ball bearing rubber wheels, offers limited use cases. According to the company, you can “move it in any direction” or place it on a shelf. Those are the only two suggestions.
