“There is nothing illegal,” assures the streamer who uploaded 4 hours of Dragon’s Dogma 2 gameplay to the network.
It’s not uncommon for games to appear on physical media before their official release, with some being sold by retailers ahead of time or even stolen, as was the case with Starfield last year.
Last week, a streamer showcased 4 hours of Dragon’s Dogma 2 gameplay on Twitch, offering an intriguing look at the game and its performance on PlayStation 5. Despite Capcom’s efforts to remove the video, the streamer defended their actions, claiming they legally purchased the game and played through a VPN to avoid detection.
“I legally bought a copy of the game, and I have a receipt for it,” the streamer stated. “There is nothing illegal in how I play.”
The streamer obtained an early copy of Dragon’s Dogma 2 from a friend who works at Walmart, and other copies have also surfaced online, so beware of spoilers.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is set to be released on March 22, 2024, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.
