Leaked details and screenshots of Lego 2K Drive, an upcoming Lego racing game from 2K, have surfaced online. This confirms previous reports that 2K was developing a series of Lego games.
In the past two decades, there have been numerous Lego-related video games, including licensed action games like Lego Star Wars, MMOs, open-world adventures, and mobile titles. However, there hasn’t been a dedicated Lego-themed racing game (apart from a 2019 Forza Horizon expansion) since the popular Lego Racers series in the late ’90s and early 2000s. But recent reports suggest that the long wait may finally be over.
Over the weekend, details and screenshots from a closed beta version of Lego 2K Drive were leaked. According to a Reddit post from someone who either played the beta or had knowledge of the test, Lego 2K Drive is a “PvP multiplayer” game that is similar to Mario Kart and inspired by classic Lego racing games from the past. The leaker claims that during races, vehicles automatically transform between “on-road, off-road, and water” forms. Some of the items and power-ups include mines, homing missiles, brick wheels, and EMPs. Players can also create custom cars. The Reddit post also included screenshots of the beta.
