Valve has finally lifted the veil of secrecy surrounding the MOBA shooter Deadlock. The game
Deadlock is currently in its early testing phase, with developers cautioning players about the presence of temporary images and localization bugs. The latest patch has also introduced the Russian language support.
Key features of Deadlock include:
- The game follows the MOBA genre, featuring four lanes on the map with resilient NPC robots instead of towers. Players are divided into two teams of six, aiming to destroy the enemy’s throne represented by a giant robot.
- With 21 heroes currently available, players can choose from various archetypes like carries, supports, and tanks. Each hero has ranged weapons as their basic attack, and the matchmaking system ensures no duplicate heroes in a single game.
- Heroes in Deadlock possess three active abilities
and an ult, with the ability to parry incoming damage. Players can utilize air monorails to traverse lanes, allowing strategic movement across the map.
- Players earn souls
by defeating creeps, which can be used to purchase equipment. The game features a shop at the base and front of each lane, eliminating the need for couriers.
- While denying creeps is not possible, players can
collect bonus souls by shooting flying orbs released upon NPC or player character deaths. This unique mechanic adds depth to gameplay.
