One of the most popular games of this year by Larian Studios still could not escape the modern trend of the gaming industry. Since its full release, for almost two months, the game has received quite honest user ratings, both good and not so good. However, recently the situation has changed, Baldur’s Gate 3 has started receiving unjustifiably negative ratings on major aggregators.
The most noticeable review bombing of Baldur’s Gate 3 has occurred on the Metacritic portal. Within a short period of time, dozens of negative user ratings were published for the game, which have already started lowering its overall rating. As it turned out, the low ratings were being given by bots with recently created accounts and minimal descriptions. Fortunately, the website administration quickly noticed this and removed the manipulated ratings.
It is not entirely clear who and why engaged in intentional review bombing of a project that was released several months ago. There is a presumption that disgruntled fans of Starfield are behind this. The same bot accounts indicate this. In some cases, they would lower the ratings for Baldur’s Gate 3 while simultaneously giving high scores to Starfield.
