Starfield: A Surge of Refund Requests from Players

The Bethesda Softworks studio surprised gamers in 2018 with the announcement of⁤ the completely new ambitious role-playing game Starfield. The project promised to offer the opportunity to⁣ explore many⁤ planets and intrigued with the exploration⁢ of star‌ systems, instantly ⁤becoming the most anticipated game. Despite ‍the huge attention Starfield received from players before its release, it seems that there is‌ now a demand for refunds. Instead of it, players are recommended to pay attention to other projects, including the recent Baldur’s Gate 3.

This is evidenced by the data from the Steam digital ⁤store. While Starfield was available in early access on the service, there were a fairly standard number of game refunds, which aimed for average values of 70-140 thousand requests. The day before the‌ release, this number noticeably increased to almost 200 thousand, and many attribute this to the‍ full release of Starfield. The thing is, early access⁢ to the game was only available⁣ after purchasing the premium edition, but money for it could be easily refunded even after 30 hours of gameplay while keeping all progress.

In Steam discussions, individual guides have been noticed where users described how to guarantee a quick refund for Starfield. To do this, all one had to do was write to the store’s‌ customer support and complain about the technical state of the game.‌ Presumably, many gamers took⁣ advantage of this life hack, judging by the activity of ‌the comments in such ⁢discussions.

Some users claim that they will simply refund ⁤the money for the premium edition‍ and then buy the game again at the standard price. Others write that they really didn’t like the game. Such users complain about ‌the technical state of Starfield, constant bugs, and weak graphics. There are also users who were⁣ able to complete the ‌main storyline during early access and are no longer interested in the game.

According to the latest data, there are 198 thousand users playing Starfield. The project has gathered almost 14 thousand reviews, of which 83% approve of the game. ⁣The game is ⁢also available on Xbox ⁤consoles, and it is difficult to say how things are going there.
