Sony Pictures Television has decided to start over with the⁤ “Silk:⁣ Spider Society” series, originally announced in 2018. ​Showrunner ⁣Angela Kang is the only⁣ remaining team member, with all other writers ​being‌ replaced‍ by a new creative team.

Reportedly, the show will⁢ now be aimed at a predominantly male audience, in an effort to attract viewers of “Reacher” and “Jack Ryan”.⁢ The concept ‌of the show will also be changed, with completed episodes⁢ undergoing ⁤significant reworking.

It’s worth ⁤noting that Sony is not only working on this⁣ spin-off in the “Spider-Man” universe. There are rumors that Nicholas Cage will star in the “Spider-Man‍ Noir” series, which⁣ is being developed by Amazon.

Oren Uziel, known ‌for ‌”22 Jump Street” and “The Cloverfield‌ Paradox”,‌ is listed as the series’ ⁢writer ⁣and executive⁢ producer. Uziel will be working on the show with Phil Lord and Chris Miller, producers of the animated film “Spider-Man: ⁢Into the⁢ Spider-Verse”, and Amy Pascal, producer of “Spider-Man: No Way‌ Home”.
