The second set of cards coming to Disney Lorcana has officially been announced and will be titled Rise of the Floodborn, suggesting that many of the characters included will have the reimagined styling fitting for Floodborn cards. Floodborn glimmers are examples of where characters have been touched by a mixed-up and chaotic ink that gives them more powers and changes the traditional features of the characters from their original versions. This second set of cards will have more than 200 cards including stories of Zootopia, The Great Mouse Detective, Jungle Book, and more.
A Rise of the Floodborn reveal announcing what’s coming Disney Lorcana’s second set, as well as the new Disney100 Edition, was made early in the morning of September 12, 2023. The set is scheduled to make its official launch on December 1, with early releases to local game stores just prior to that. Many fan favorites will be joining the game, and not every card has been revealed yet. Below are each of the cards that have been shown to be included at this point.
Mickey Mouse kicks off the set as a Storyborn card in the Amber ink deck. The Mickey Mouse Friendly Face card will have only one point for challenging but surprisingly high defense and boasts some impressive abilities. Not only will he give three lore for every quest, but will reduce ink costs for the next character played every time he quests.
Many would probably agree that villains such as The Queen don’t need to be more powerful in their story universes, yet in Disney Lorcana, giving the glimmer of The Queen a Floodborn effect is a useful strategy. This Amber ink card will allow her majesty to not only quest for two lore, but when questing she will grant a negative four to an opponent character and add four to one of her teammates for challenging that turn.
