Skull and Bones: Ubisoft’s Highly Anticipated Game Under Scrutiny by Digital Foundry’s Technical Experts

Technical experts at Digital Foundry have conducted ⁤a thorough analysis of Ubisoft’s game Skull ‍and Bones, and their findings are not ⁤favorable. The specialists were critical of both the technical and gameplay aspects of this highly anticipated AAAA game from Ubisoft.

Upon testing the game ‌modes on consoles, Digital Foundry found that while the game⁣ works in true 4K resolution in quality mode,‌ the performance mode ‌is disappointing. The base resolution drops‍ significantly, resulting in a blurry image with numerous ‌artifacts. This⁣ stark difference in image quality ‍between modes is unprecedented, according to Digital Foundry.

However, the⁢ PC version of the game fared better, with no stutters⁤ and a more satisfactory performance overall.

One of⁣ the major criticisms from Digital Foundry was the low resolution of water reflections in the game, making‍ them unconvincing. They⁢ also noted poor facial animations and low-quality‍ textures, as well as a lack of self-shadowing in the lighting, resulting ⁤in a flat‍ image.

But the most scathing critique was reserved for the game’s ⁢design⁣ and bugs. Digital ⁢Foundry found the quests to be tedious and repetitive, likening the game structure to donation-based mobile ⁤games with ⁢artificial time inflation. They also lamented the lack of pirate-like activities, making ‌the player feel more‍ like a‌ ship being forced to sail between locations for mundane tasks.
