Roskomnadzor: Steam will not face blocking in Russia
Roskomnadzor has no plans to block access to the Steam community site in Russia, as reported by the SOTA Telegram channel, citing a source within Roskomnadzor.
According to representatives of Roskomnadzor, the site owner has been informed about the presence of content that violates Russian laws and has been asked to remove it. Despite the removal of the illegal content, the Roskomnadzor registry has not been updated to reflect this, showing only the existence of claims. As of now, the mention of the Steam community site has been removed from the registry.
Additionally, Roskomnadzor stressed that even if there is no response to the agency’s demands, the resource may not necessarily be blocked. It may continue to operate, but search engines will indicate that the site violates Russian legislation. Such measures are implemented if the resource is deemed significant or if there are other reasons why it cannot be shut down.
