Sega Sammy has completed its purchase of Angry Birds developer ⁣Rovio, officially spending $776 million to acquire the company. ⁣The deal was initially proposed in April, but⁣ both companies ‌had to ⁢go through finalization and regulatory processes. Sega ⁢hopes that this acquisition will strengthen its presence in ⁢the mobile space,‌ even though the peak ‍popularity of Angry Birds was ‍almost 15 years ago.

However, Rovio is not solely focused on Angry Birds. ​In addition to ‌the various spinoff games of Angry Birds, the company ⁣is also known for ⁢the match-three​ puzzler Sugar⁢ Blast and the⁣ narrative mystery game Small Town Murders.
