Remnant 2: The Ultimate Guide to Treating Root Rot

Being able to cure Root Rot in Remnant 2 is essential, as this status effect can be extremely prejudicial ‍against ⁤a player’s progression through the oppressive world‌ presented in the soulslike title. The game, a direct sequel to Remnant: From The⁤ Ashes, puts players in control ⁣of‌ a‍ human survivor in a post-apocalyptic⁢ world overrun by ‌a legion of invading creatures. Unlike other soulslike titles, many of the game’s maps are procedurally generated,‌ offering players a different experience⁤ each time they run through the same location.

Regardless of how these maps are presented, however, players will⁢ have to face various creatures in the⁢ game, and some of⁣ them may⁣ end up⁣ inflicting them with Root Rot, one of the various status effects in ⁣Remnant 2. To rid themselves of this negative effect, players will‌ need to use the correct cure for⁣ Root Rot. Allowing this status effect to linger can be terrible. Even though it does not directly impact their ⁤HP, it severely debilitates the afflicted, leading to avoidable HP loss during battles.

To⁢ cure Root Rot in Remnant 2, players will have to use a consumable item called Oilskin Balm. This is the only solution to ‌this specific status ‍effect. Using the Oilskin Balm will immediately cleanse away the Root Rot status from the player’s character. In addition, the usage of ⁣this item has a secondary effect. By utilizing Oilskin Balm, players will see their ⁢general ⁣Blight resistance ⁣increased ‌by 25% for 10 minutes. This effect will help them resist Blight-based status effects, like Root ‍Rot, ⁢Suppression, ‌and Cursed.

To get Oilskin Balm‌ in Remnant⁤ 2, players can obtain it from two ⁤distinct vendors. The first one is Dr. Norah,⁣ who‍ can be⁣ found in Ward 13. She will not immediately have the item in her inventory, however. Players will have to progress and obtain one before they ⁣unlock the ability to purchase it from her. The⁢ second vendor that sells Oilskin Balm is Bedel of⁢ the Vaunnt. Both NPCs sell the cure for ⁤Root Rot⁢ for 100x Scrap.

Being afflicted ⁤with Root Rot in Remnant 2 will cause a debilitating status effect on the player’s character. Instead of depleting HP, it will cause the⁢ afflicted to stop moving and commence a coughing ‍sequence. This will, essentially, immobilize them. Root Rot can be extremely dangerous as it makes the player vulnerable to attacks – especially in boss fights in Remnant 2.
