Honkai: Star Rail has finally received a release date for the PlayStation 5, and it won’t be too long until the game finally launches on the system. As HoYoverse’s follow-up to Genshin Impact and a successor (but not a direct sequel) to Honkai Impact 3rd, Honkai: Star Rail delivers an expansive RPG adventure within a free-to-play format. Turn-based combat and a sci-fi space-faring setting give it a unique edge while maintaining much of the same fundamental appeal as Genshin Impact, making the game a good fit for those who prefer Xenosaga to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Announced in the September PlayStation State of Play livestream, Honkai: Star Rail will release on the PlayStation 5 on October 11, 2023. Although that still leaves several weeks to go before the game’s console launch, the confirmation of a specific day less than a month away from the September State of Play is likely a relief for many looking forward to playing the game. This should coincide with the expected date of Honkai: Star Rail’s update 1.4, timing out to be a major day for the game across all platforms.
