As the speculations about the remaster of Red Dead Redemption continue to grow, a well-known insider assures that an official announcement will be made soon.
Former IGN editor Colin Moriarty, in one of the episodes of his podcast Sacred Symbols, stated that he has evidence that the remaster/remake exists and may be announced as early as mid-August.
“I can say that I have received confirmation that it exists. I suppose you don’t need such confirmation, but someone came to me behind the scenes and told me something that definitely proves the game’s existence. It’s possible that the announcement will take place in August. There’s nothing surprising about this, considering the South Korean rating commission doesn’t rate things unexpectedly. They assign ratings based on what is presented to them,” says Moriarty.
Moriarty also emphasized that, as far as he understands, the game was never cancelled, but rather given more time. According to other information, Rockstar was aware of the high demand for an updated version of Red Dead Redemption, so it is quite likely that an announcement will be made. Given how the announcements for LA Noire and GTA Trilogy were done, it is quite possible that Rockstar will announce the game and release it within a month or two after the announcement.
Red Dead Redemption was released on May 18, 2010, for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and is considered one of the best games of all time.
