Ranking of All Disney Lorcana Disney100 Edition Alt Art Cards

The Disney100, or D100, Edition of‍ Disney⁣ Lorcana adds six ⁤alt art cards to the game, arriving alongside the newly announced Rise of the ‌Floodborn expansion. ⁢As a fresh addition to the collectible trading card game market, Disney Lorcana is moving full steam ahead in spite of some serious supply ⁢issues ⁤plaguing‍ its recent ⁢launch.‍ Following a similar approach to the Gift Set available as part⁤ of The First Chapter of the TCG, the D100 Edition set includes four booster packs for the expansion alongside exclusive goodies ‍- in this case, the curated selection of alt art cards.

Featuring a special foil treatment, the ‌cards in the Disney100 Edition earn their place thanks to the artists behind them. Each artist has worked for Disney in a major capacity, ⁣from visual development to animation, and has had some hand in the ‌character ⁢they illustrated a ‍card for. Cards from Rise of⁣ the‍ Floodbornand The First Chapter alike fill out ⁢the set, as the focus is⁢ more on a celebration of Disney’s‍ 100th anniversary than it is ‍on the ‌new expansion ⁤specifically. A $49.99 price ⁤for the D100 Edition⁣ places⁤ significant value on the alt art cards, representing a $20 leap ⁢from the last ‍Gift Set.

The⁣ D100 artwork for Mickey ‍Mouse: Friendly Face‌ comes courtesy of Mark Henn, a veteran Disney‍ animator who‌ knows ⁢his way around the mouse. After doing uncredited work on The Fox and the Hound in 1981,⁢ Mark Henn ⁣stepped up to animate⁣ Mickey‌ in Mickey’s Christmas Carol ⁣in 1983. Over the course of his career, he’s played a significant animation role on projects like The Lion‌ King, Mulan, and Frozen, but his Disney Lorcana contribution sticks to ⁢the⁢ enduring mascot.

Elsa: Gloves Off is another new Rise of⁢ the Floodborn addition to Disney⁤ Lorcana, albeit one with a ⁢very different focus from Mickey Mouse: Friendly Face. Elsa is all about ‌questing, with a perfectly decent 3 strength and 4 willpower that boosts‌ up‌ to 6 strength on the ‌offensive thanks to⁣ the Challenger ability. This gives her a‌ higher attack power than any Challenger card in The First Chapter except for Simba: Returned King, who boasts a whopping 8 when challenging but comes in at a significantly higher cost of‌ 7 ink.
