Red Dead Redemption from 2010 never made it to PC, forcing gamers to use emulators. But thanks to the efforts of a modder named vtsar, keyboard and mouse players will no longer be forced to play with a controller.
According to GamesRadar+, the modder’s work is now available for download on Github. The modification allows for the transfer of control settings from Xbox 360 and/or PlayStation 3 controllers to a keyboard and mouse. The author admits that the project is not perfect and that working with a mouse can be improved. But in the future, they intend to enhance the mod by making the necessary fixes and updates.
For detailed installation instructions and required tools, please refer to the project description. There is also a brief guide for players who don’t like having the cursor flying around the screen. However, it’s worth noting that running Red Dead Redemption on the highest graphics settings and resolution will require fairly powerful hardware.
In recent weeks, Red Dead Redemption has experienced a surge in popularity, mainly due to rumors of an alleged remaster in the works. Initially dubious reports have been confirmed by a reliable source. Colin Moriarty, former editor of IGN, admitted to having seen “evidence” of the game’s existence.
