The Spotify TV app has undergone a redesign to resemble the popular mobile version of the digital music and podcast streaming service. The home page now features a “Now Playing View” and shortcuts to recently played content. Similar to the mobile app, the TV app will recommend new songs and podcasts based on your listening history on the main screen.
In addition to the visual changes, the TV app now allows for easier switching between different Spotify accounts. The most recently active profile will always be displayed in the top right corner of the screen. This is particularly useful for shared TVs, as you can easily switch to a paired account by selecting the profile image.
In the past, when using the app to listen to music on your TV, you could only see the next song in the queue. However, with the new “Playback Queue” tool, you can now select the specific content you want to play.
