Genshin Impact enthusiasts have been diligently unearthing leaks about Fontaine, and Freminet is one of the results of their quest. Freminet is a 4-Star character from Fontaine who is rumored to make an appearance with the region’s launch. Although little is known about his character at this time, current leaks reveal Freminet’s basic information, including his Vision and weapon type.
Most of the information about Freminet’s character in Genshin Impact comes from the leaker Mero, aka merlin_impact on Twitter. Instead of simply describing Freminet’s appearance, Mero inputted Freminet’s known visual description into an AI art program and generated a design. Because of this, Freminet likely looks quite different from the photo Mero posted with the leak, but the other information should be reliable.
merlin_impact’s leak also includes a brief character description of Freminet. Freminet works as a “diver” who spends a lot of time focusing on the complex machinery needed for his job. It’s unclear what exactly Freminet does while diving, but this job description suggests that he may be involved with Genshin Impact’s new leaked mechanic; swimming underwater. He could teach the Traveler how to dive or otherwise be involved in a diving-based quest.
Sumeru’s arrival in Version 3.0 brought both 5-Star and 4-Star characters to welcome the new region, and Fontaine is setting itself up to be no different. Freminet is set to be the 4-Star character released with the Version 4.0 banners. He will join Genshin Impact alongside both Lyney and Lynette, the two new 5-Star characters featured in the teaser for Fontaine’s Archon Quest. Since Lyney and Lynette’s leaked Visions are said to be Pyro and Anemo respectively, Freminet could potentially work well in a team comp with either sibling, due to Cryo’s synergy with both Elements.
The only other information available about Freminet is that his focused work on machines can cause problems with socialization. If Freminet turns out to be another socially awkward 4-Star Cryo boy, he will have to work hard to differentiate himself from Chongyun and Mika. For now, it’s impossible to cast solid judgment on Freminet’s character until his Genshin Impact release date comes closer.
