It Appears More Probable Now That Final Fantasy 16 Demo Will Be Released Soon

Final Fantasy 16 might be one of the most anticipated games in recent memory, and the possibility of it getting a demo soon is more likely than ever. Square Enix’s RPG powerhouse series has had its ups and downs, with poor reception for the Final Fantasy 13 trilogy and the highly polarizing Final Fantasy 15. Square’s latest entry promises to return the series to its roots with a dark twist.

Square Enix has built a bit of a tradition around releasing demos of its games. A demo for Final Fantasy 12 released with Dragon Quest 8 and Final Fantasy 15 had its platinum demo and sizeable Episode Duscae. Fans are hoping for an early look into the dark world and story of Final Fantasy 16 in the same way, and the opportunity might come soon, with FF16’s demo release date looking increasingly likely.

There’s a bit more than that to why the community is so sure about June 8. Fans put much stock in the words of Yoshi-P and have great faith in Square Enix’s Creative Business Unit 3, the team developing Final Fantasy 16. This is the same team that resurrected FFXIV from a disastrous launch and turned it into one of Square Enix’s bestselling and most beloved entries with expansions like Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker. Yoshi-P’s word commands trust from fans that most don’t, which makes the possibility of a June 8 demo release date for Final Fantasy 16 all the more promising.

Another key piece of evidence that lends support to the June 8 release date for FF16’s demo is the fact the demo has appeared on PlayStation Network for some PS5 owners (via Game Rant). Or rather, the page for the demo has, at least. Some believe this may have been a clerical error of sorts, as the demo cannot currently be downloaded. It is, however, visible. This means that Creative Business Unit 3 has begun prepping the final stages of the demo release.
