The specific release date for Withers’ Wardrobe of Wayward Friends is not mentioned in Community Update #24, but it is expected to be released “very soon.” This is a positive sign, considering the uncertain timelines for other updates. The console releases of Baldur’s Gate 3 will also receive the same patches and updates as the PC version, so co-op improvements should be available on PS5 without a long wait.
Adjustments to the handling of co-op characters in Baldur’s Gate 3 are well-deserved, and Withers’ Wardrobe of Wayward Friends is a whimsical solution to a dry issue. Larian Studios has shown a willingness to address post-launch issues, releasing hotfixes and major patches based on community feedback. While co-op changes may not be as interesting for singleplayer campaigns, the ability to swap out co-op party members at camp greatly improves the multiplayer experience of Baldur’s Gate 3.
