Fans of Assassin’s Creed noticed a cat in the game Mirage with a quite distinctive appearance, which seems to be a reference to a real animal with the same pattern on its face.
In the Assassin’s Creed community, user suckashelfboi101 shared a photo of Basim holding a cat whose face has a pattern resembling the Assassin’s Creed logo.
Although most commentators have already agreed that the pattern looks too much like the logo of the Assassin Brotherhood to be a mere coincidence, one of the moderators revealed that it was not only a deliberate choice by Ubisoft but also a reference to a real fan’s cat.
The user shared a screenshot of a comment that apparently was made on the Assassin’s Creed social media page. In the comment, Alanna Sas shared a photo of her friend’s cat, which has the exact same markings as the cat found in the game Mirage. Along with the cat’s photo, Sas wrote, “Please add this cat with the AC logo on its precious face to the game. She belonged to my friend and recently passed away.”
Although there are no official statements on this matter, but the markings on the cat’s face perfectly match, so it appears to be true. This was confirmed by Twitter user CreedScholars, who shared the same post from Alanna Sas, as well as several images of the “Catasassin.”
