Guide to the Cultist Refuge Dungeon in Diablo 4

A dungeon can provide players with tons of money, gear, and XP in Diablo IV to make characters more powerful, with the Cultist Refuge being one of the best places in Sanctuary to farm any of these rewards. Unlike many other dungeons in the game, the Cultist Refuge does not have a boss, making it far less stressful to visit than other pockets of evil. Clearing this area the first time also unlocks a special Aspect for the Sorcerer class.

The Cultist Refuge can be found inside the cathedral of Nostrava, a city to the southeast of Kyovashad that originally appeared as a Stronghold in the Fractured Peaks of Diablo 4. Players will have to clear out the evils of the Stronghold to unlock the dungeon, which appears alongside multiple NPCs, vendors, and side quests that open up after activating the Wanderer’s Shrine in the town.

The winding hallways of the Inner Sanctum lie past a locked door opened with the Cultist Key at the end of the Halls of Assembly, giving players their next objective. Two more Elite enemies, Diablo 4’s High Priests, lurk in this part of the dungeon that players must eliminate. Although guarded by enemy hordes, these two Priests are far away from each other, making it extremely easy for players to take each down to finish the dungeon once both fall.

The first time players clear this dungeon, they will unlock the Flamewalker’s Legendary Aspect for the Sorcerer in Diablo 4, which gives increased movement speed when using the Firewall Skill. 30 Renown is also given to the player, which can help build their reputation in the Fractured Peaks for extra Gold and XP in Diablo 4.

The lack of the boss makes these rewards very easy to obtain, so players are recommended to return to the Cultist Refuge often when it resets for consistent loot in Diablo IV.
