Tom Warren, a well-known figure at The Verge, has shared some exclusive insider information about Microsoft’s gaming division. This includes details about a leadership reshuffle, a summer presentation, and a sneak peek at the highly anticipated new Call of Duty game. Insider Tom Henderson has also chimed in with his thoughts on the matter.
According to Warren’s sources, the Xbox Showcase is set to take place on June 9 and promises some exciting announcements. This includes the unveiling of Gears 6, release dates for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Avowed, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and possibly State of Decay 3. Additionally, there are plans to showcase a new Call of Duty game with the working title Black Ops Gulf War.
Henderson, however, has contradicted Warren’s claims, suggesting that players will get a first look at the new shooter even earlier. Sources indicate that Activision will be returning to more traditional promotion methods, with gameplay of Gulf War set to be revealed before the Summer Games Fest on June 7. Henderson also expects further details about the multiplayer component of the game in August, with the full game slated for release in October 2024.
