GameStop has announced that it will be shutting down its NFT marketplace, following the closure of its crypto wallet two months ago. The company cited the “continuing regulatory uncertainty of the crypto space” as the reason for this decision. Customers were notified through an alert on the website, stating that the NFT marketplace will no longer be usable starting from February 2. GameStop’s NFT marketplace was launched in July 2022 in partnership with Immutable X and Loopring, but now it only has a few weeks left before it ceases operations. The notice reassured customers that their NFTs will remain accessible and saleable through other platforms.
