Fans of Starfield were initially surprised to learn that the new science fiction role-playing game from Bethesda would not feature any ground vehicles to help explore thousands of planets. However, players have a jetpack that replaces ground vehicles in Starfield. Although you can improve the “Jetpack Training” skill to consume less fuel and therefore travel farther, it has limitations. Fortunately, modder GM Custom Sauces has today released the “Flying Jetpack” mod, giving PC gamers the ability to remove or significantly reduce these limitations.
This mod is inspired by how the jetpack is used in the “Mandalorian” series. By default, it completely eliminates fuel consumption and includes vertical ascent, making it more like flying than simple hovering. There are three options: 600, 450, and 300, depending on the desired vertical ascent. However, there are also additional files that simply reduce fuel consumption without removing it completely, for better balance.
To install the Flying Jetpack mod in Starfield, select only one of these files, then place the jetpack.txt and jetpackreset.txt files in the main game directory. Then, make sure that the StarfieldCustom.ini file in the Documents/My Games/Starfield folder contains the following commands:
[Boostpack]
bUsePressAndHoldControls=1
Finally, you will need to launch the game and open the console command by pressing the ~ key on the keyboard. Then, enter bat jetpack and close the console.
