Apple TV+ is set to bring William Gibson’s Neuromancer to life in a 10-episode series. This groundbreaking novel, which debuted in 1984, is widely recognized as the birth of cyberpunk, a genre that has inspired iconic works such as The Matrix and Robocop. It’s hard to believe that it’s taken four decades for this influential story to receive the Hollywood treatment.
Neuromancer follows the journey of Case, a skilled hacker, and his partner Molly, an assassin with a mission to pull off a high-stakes heist on a powerful corporate dynasty. The series will be helmed by Graham Roland (known for Dark Winds and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan) as showrunner and JD Dillard (recognized for Devotion and Sweetheart) as director. Skydance Television and Anonymous Content will co-produce the series with support from Drake’s DreamCrew Entertainment.
While production details such as the cast and release date are yet to be revealed, the anticipation for Neuromancer’s small screen adaptation is already building.
