Insider Gaming reports that a group of hackers, whose identity remains unknown, has successfully breached the servers of Void Interactive. This breach occurred shortly after the release of their tactical shooter game, Ready or Not, from early access.
Fortunately, no personal information of players or employees was compromised in this cyber attack. However, the hackers managed to steal a massive 4 TB of data, including the entire source code of Ready or Not. Additionally, they obtained game builds for various consoles such as Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and 5, which were likely intended for internal testing and future development.
The breach took place in March, resulting in the theft of 2.1 million files. The hackers are now demanding a ransom from Void Interactive, although the company has not issued an official statement regarding this incident as reported by the media.
