The next big update for HoYoverse’s title will kick off the title’s third year of content by introducing the region of Fontaine, also known in Teyvat as the Nation of Justice. The area is also known for its Hydro affinity, as the region’s Archon commands the water-based element. The Genshin Impact 4.0 Fontaine character leaks that pointed toward Arlecchino being in the region proved to be accurate, as the developer confirmed her as a member of the Fontaine storyline – though her role is still shrouded in mystery.
Aside from her presence in the main questline, Genshin Impact’s Arlecchino is rumored to eventually become a playable character. Various leaks suggest that her Vision, weapon type, and even skills have already been seen by a few players with access to beta versions of upcoming updates. It is impossible to predict if Arlecchino will actually become playable like Childe or Wanderer in Genshin Impact or if she will be given the Signora treatment within the game – that being a boss, but not actually a playable character for players to control and customize. The information comes from her allegedly datamined character sheet, which details not only how she looks from a 360º point-of-view, but also brings technical information on her. The leaked character sheet also says that Arlecchino will use Pyro as her main element in combat. It is, however, uncertain if her elemental powers will come from an actual god-blessed Vision or from a fabricated Delusion. The same post by HutaoLover77 that speculates her release version also suggests that Arlecchino holds a Delusion. Much of this is subject to change before her speculated release, however.
With a Pyro Delusion and a sword as her preferred weapon, Genshin Impact’s Arlecchino will play a support role in the game’s team comps, according to a leak by Uncle HA, shared by HutaoLover77 on Twitter. It is unknown exactly how she will be able to provide assistance for her team members, but the second part of the leak adds to the argument that her role will be that of a support. The leak says that, in the story, Arlecchino and Lyney have a close relationship, and this may be translated into the gameplay. According to Lyney’s leaked gameplay kit in Genshin Impact, he will be a main DPS character.
Therefore, having Genshin Impact’s Arlecchino as a support would make sense, especially for a Lyney team, provided that the leaked information about their relationship is accurate.
