Disney’s Head of Racial Diversity Resigns Following a String of Unsuccessful Films

In recent years, Disney film company has frequently disappointed ordinary viewers. In their pursuit of modern trends and excessive inclusivity, the studio has been releasing films annually that have become the center of scandals due to the skin color of the actors in the leading roles or their orientation, and have not been able to boast high quality. It appears that the company has finally recognized the problem and is beginning to restructure its management. The first to leave Disney was the head of “racial diversity,” Latondra Newton, who was responsible for the idea of changing the race of the heroine in the film “The Little Mermaid”.

Information about Newton’s dismissal comes from the authoritative publication Valiant Renegade. According to journalists, Newton worked at Disney for over six years and actively enforced mandatory racial representation in any of the studio’s projects. It is likely that because of her decisions, the company lost approximately $890 million on their latest films. The production cost of these recent films is estimated at $2.75 billion, but the company was only able to earn $1.86 billion from them.

Analysts predict that with Newton’s departure, Disney’s policy will remain the same. The company will no longer deviate from the course of inclusivity; however, the agenda may be less intrusive, and the studio’s new projects will prioritize quality.
